My mom has been in poor health most of her life. Without boring you all with every detail I will just sum it up as quickly as I can. About 15 years ago she had a couple of massive strokes. She is unable to talk and recently lost the ability to eat(she is now on a stomach tube). Lately she has not had much energy and has been very lethargic.

So with my recent health kick I thought it would help her to try to work up to walk a 5k and I just wanted to get a little feedback from those of you in the fitness business. My dad and I were talking at dinner tonight and thought a personal trainer might help. Are there personal trainers that specialize working with special needs people? If so does anyone know how I go about finding a good one?

I think that the idea of a goal(5k) would be good for her. Just to walk it and finish. It would be something she could look forward to and it would help her build strength while working towards that goal. It would also help her self esteem a lot to have a finishing medal. Also I would like to find a super easy training plan that would help her build up to that goal.
